2 teaspoons baking soda

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 teaspoon nutmeg

3 cups sugar

In a large bowl, gently beat together:

1 can (16-ounce) pumpkin

1 cup oil

2\3 cup water

4 eggs (one at a time)

Add dry ingredients to the pumpkin mixture. Mix just until moist. Pour batter into 3 buttered and floured bread pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Cool and remove from pans. After the loaves are completely cool, wrap each in cling wrap and decorate with ribbon for gifts. Makes three loaves.

Carmel Corn

Submitted by the Maggie B.

“Carmel corn is such a treat on cool days and it’s also fun to “gift!” Package it in a big bag and nestle into a colorful plastic serving bowl for an enjoyable presentation!”

3 quarts popped popcorn

½ cup melted butter

½ cup honey

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon vanilla

Melt the butter and honey together; bring to a boil. Add salt, baking soda, and vanilla. Quickly toss with corn, being careful not to touch the hot syrup. Spread quickly in two buttered 15x10-inch pans. Bake at 250 degrees, stirring every 15 minutes. Usually takes about 45 minutes until it will be crispy. Pull out a sample, let it cool and test! Let the corn cool completely before packaging.
