For Stings & Bites, apply:
• Plantain
To use for any sting or bite, crush the leaves, place on affected area to diminish the pain and swelling. Use plantain also effectively on snakebites to draw out poison. It will pull the poison close to the skin, not allowing it to reach the rest of the area. It will not be as effective if the poison invades the rest of the area. Our family has used plantain effectively to relieve itch of chigger, misquote bites and bee stings.
• Chickweed
Chickweed is a contact healer internally and externally so it helps with pain as it heals. It decreases pain, swelling and itching. You can use chickweed fresh, dried, in a poultice & as salve.
• Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is very helpful on a variety of insect bites and stings, including bee stings, fire ants, mosquitoes, wasp stings, and spider bites. Use it full strength on affected area.
• Tea Tree Essential Oil
Tree oil neutralizes wasp, bee, centipede fire ant and spider venom and stops itch and swelling of flea and mosquito bites. At first sign of a bite, apply full strength tea tree oil immediately and several items after. Saturate the area well and give the oil opportunity to penetrate deep into the affected area.
• Grapefruit Seed Extract
Full strength or diluted grapefruit seed extract will quickly disinfect any bite.
• Tick Bites:
After removal of the tick, use tea tree oil and/or hydrogen peroxide.
